All loved up from my recent wedding (more on that soon), and having noticed lately that there are a lot of couples who hike together on Instagram, I’ve been inspired to do a post for Valentines Day.
Hiking has got to be up there with travelling as the ultimate test for a couple, so we can assume that these Instagrammers are pretty solid. Not only are their photos great hiking inspiration for me, but they’re great relationship inspiration too.
Lori and I didn’t make the list because, unfortunately, I do most of my hiking alone or with the kids (she works too much). She does pop up on my Instagram quite a bit, though, so you should probably give us a follow as well over at @aushikingtours.
So here they are, my seven favourite hiking couples on Instagram…
1. Will & Ashlee (@Mountainashy)
#partnerincrime #love #happybirthdayThese guys have a fantastic blog (also called Mountainashy) where they write about their outdoor adventures together, mostly in Victoria, and the gear and food they take with them. I was immediately taken by the blog because of their beautiful photography, and it translates naturally to Instagram.
2. Jem & Josh (@hikingaustralia)
Two city dwellers who love going bush. Jem & Josh Instagram their daily lives but this seems to include a heck of a lot of hiking, mostly in Victoria.
3. Michelle & Mark (@walkingtwobytwo)
Another Aussie hiking blogger couple, who run a blog called Twobytwo, Michelle and Mark are on a mission to hike the world at every opportunity. So far they’ve blogged and photographed their hiking adventures in Spain, Italy and Portugal, but they do a lot of hiking on their home turf as well.
4. Hiking Couple in Hong Kong (@hikingcoupleinhk)
While Hong Kong isn’t somewhere that’s high on my hiking bucket list, I love seeing the photos these guys post. This young Chinese couple doesn’t list their names on their profile, but they’re definitely worth checking out.
5. Ronny & Ingrid (@thehikingcouple)
Still an amazing hike though 
På grunn av dårlig vær måtte vi snu en kilometer fra #toppen av #fjellet Ronny and Ingrid hail from Norway, where they do heaps of hiking with their three gorgeous kids. They’re aiming to do 70 trips in 2016, so we can expect a hell of a lot of photos this year.
6. Andy & Laurie (@yogihiker)
These guys met on top of Mount Whitney on the last day of their respective John Muir Trail hikes in 2012. Now they’re planning to thru-hike the Pacific Crest Trail together in 2016, and they’ve started a blog about it – Andy & Laurie hike the PCT. We can surely expect lots of incredible photos from them this year.
7. The Hiking Doctors (@mountainmedicalcenter)
#hiking #hikingcouple #hikersofinstagram #outdoorlife #outdoors #philippinemountainsThe Hiking Doctors are a couple from the Philippines who are fairly new to Instagram but have been posting some brilliant photos so far. Again, the Philippines isn’t a place that was previously high on my hiking bucket list, but these guys are selling it to me, one Instagram post at a time.
